Galerie Noel Guyomarc’h is now entering its 21st program with two much anticipated exhibitions this Spring.
The gallery is very proud to start the year with TOC TWEE, a collective display of two young enamel artists, Aurélie Guillaume and Zachery Lechtenberg. With their pieces inspired by Pop Art, comics and street art, Guillaume and Lechtenberg decided to focus on « kitch » as a theme, exploring how it is somehow related to « bad taste », unnecessary ornamentation, sometimes even copies of unreachable originals. For the first time, they will present their works together with some collaborative pieces, and reveal their respective interpretations of this challenging topic, from March 15 to April 15.
The gallery will host Aurora Australis, a collective exhibition introducing 17 Australian artists for the first time in Canada. Curated by Katie Scott, Head of the Funaki Gallery of Melbourne, this exceptional exhibition has been under preparation since 2016. Scott enthusiastically responded to Noel Guyomarc’h invitation and her show will provide a current picture of Australian contemporary jewellery creation. Aurora Australis will be on display from June 1 to July 15, 2018 and will introduce the work by Julie Blyfield, Simon Cottrell, Anna Davern, Bin Dixon-Ward, Sian Edwards, Maureen Faye-Chauhan, Emma Fielden, Kirsten Haydon, Marcos Guzman, Marian Hosking, Inari Kiuru, Carlier Makigawa, Blanche Tilden, Sally Marsland, Sue Lorraine et Manon van Kouswijk.
