The name comes from the nudibranch Miamira and the bird’s nest coral Seriatopora. The small nematocysts covering Seriatopora remind the artist of the delicate spirals she has used in her filigree creations, both traditional and contemporary. They echo her past work and the beauty of bird’s nest coral of the genus Seriatopora. “Mia Seria” evokes a fragment of bird’s nest coral rooted on a nudibranch that is gradually beginning to mimic the color of its symbiotic partner.
