DESTINATION BIJOU CAGNES-SUR-MER
June 4 -7, 2026
From June 4 to 7, 2026, the second edition of “Destination Bijou” transforms Cagnes-sur-Mer into a must-visit destination for all lovers and connoisseurs of contemporary jewellery. Building on the success of 2024, the Destination Bijou Cagnes event, masterfully led by curators Isabelle Busnel, Sébastien Carré and Juan Riusech, takes over the city to celebrate contemporary jewelry making through a rich programme of exhibitions, talks and workshops, with the support of the municipality and the Museum of Contemporary Jewellery. The exhibitions will be presented at the Château-Musée Grimaldi and the Espace Solidor.

For this occasion, the Galerie Noël Guyomarc’h has organized an exhibition on contemporary enamel work. This art form is experiencing a renewed interest among numerous Canadian makers. An ancient, demanding and sometimes unpredictable technique, it requires patience, precision, and meticulous skill. Applying glass powder to metal and melting it in a kiln at very high temperatures is as much a matter of science as it is of poetry. Each enameled piece becomes the result of a delicate balance between control and chance, between gesture and fire. In a modern world dominated by speed, mass production and instant gratification, enamel asserts itself as an act of resistance, a celebration of slowness and precision. This project pays tribute to this fascinating practice and to the artists who, today, choose to breathe new life into it. In honoring enamel, we also honor time, material and the human being behind the object. It is an invitation to slow down, to observe, to feel — to restore value to the gesture.
Guest artists : Aurélie Guillaume, Gayane Avetisyan, Jamie Kroeger, Jan Smith, Kye-Yeon Son, Malika Rousseau, Mengnan Qu et Noore Saleh.
