Gésine Hackenberg

In 2020, Gésine Hackenberg had her exhibition  Falter Not Fall at the gallery. For more information on that series and on the artist:  Falter Not Fall

Gésine has been selected for the prestigious Schmuck 2023 exhibition with her new series Slowdown. They are now available at the gallery.

These series of works come from the period of the pandemic, which was marked by a radical retreat into intimacy. An unexpected break with our usual life and commitments.
This new situation intertwined professional and private life. Without access to the studio, she played with needlework, colored thread from her grandmother’s sewing box and spiral wire, used in embroidery.
Images from the immediate everyday environment slipped through her hands: the house, the garden, walks in a Dutch environment. The time offered to be more attentive to details. Rhythms, patterns and structures over time began to resonate in her pieces.
