REQUIEM Mala Pendants

A mala is a necklace (general) and used for prayers or mantra (specific) in many
religions. Also a talisman, the mala acts as a holder for our thoughts and feelings
and can offer a little magic during a time when any amount of magic is
beneficial. Each mala is an offering for the well being of all beings everywhere.
Each mala shape is a combination of the circle and the square. The circle
represents rebirth, wholeness and eternity. The square represents stability and
the constructed environment. Carved from limewood and ebonized, the mala
lands in the history of mourning jewelry that helps us to simultaneously
remember the dead and to celebrate the fragility of life.
Each mala pendant is part of the REQUIEM project. REQUIEM is a community
driven memorial to honor all those that have passed from the COVID-19 virus.
