Until May 16, 2026, Galerie Noel Guyomarc’h presents Bijou, Caillou…, an exhibition bringing together nine invited international artists who reveal the raw stone in all its power and delicacy. In their hands, the material awakens: it is carved, polished, transformed, revealing unexpected jewelry, as if emerging from the very heart of the stone.

This is not about stones cut to be set in precious metal, but about artists who draw from stone fascinating and spectacular jewels, through a remarkable mastery of a combination of traditional and contemporary techniques of subtraction and composition. The stone is no longer a fragment serving metal but becomes both artwork and adornment. We move away from the notion of lapidary stone toward an approach in which, in the hands of these artists, the stone itself is allowed a diversity of tones and expressions. A deep respect for the material and craftsmanship is embedded in the works presented. From this encounter emerges a new freedom: that of letting the stone speak, resonate, and reveal its nuances, textures, and silences.
Each work carries within it a memory: that of depths, invisible strata, and the long passage of time that has shaped the material over millennia. These stones extend this narrative by questioning our relationship to nature, origin, and authenticity. They evoke territories, belongings, and identities, like fragments of the world to be worn on the body.
In these creations, stone becomes language. It expresses strength and permanence, but also fragility and softness. It captures light, holds color, and becomes by turns sensual, vibrant, and expressive. Thus transformed, it is no longer merely to be seen; it is to be felt, like a silent and profound presence.
