Ciao!

Janis Kerman

Exhibition presented from October 9 to 24, 2020.

A major figure in art jewelry in Canada, Janis Kerman, after an exceptional career spanning nearly 50 years, decided last spring to retire. To mark this retirement, Galerie Noel Guyomarc’h invited the jeweler to present her creations as part of an exhibition entitled Ciao! The title is a nod to her passion for Italy.

Janis Kerman bijoux Jewerly montrealRepresented by the gallery for nearly 20 years, Janis has earned many accolades throughout her career, which began in 1972 at the age of 15. We have collaborated often with numerous individual and group exhibitions. In 2017, to celebrate her 45-year career, a book was finally dedicated to her. Written by Noel Guyomarc’h, divided into seven chapters, from her training to the present day, this work is amply illustrated with jewelry and sketches from the artist’s various collections. In it we discover the obsessions of Janis Kerman: those of the perfect line, harmony and aesthetic maintaining a visual balance with a keen sense of design.

This exhibition will bring together recent and earlier creations, rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings in combinations of silver or gold, with carefully chosen inserts of precious and semi-precious stones.  To say “grazie” to the clients who followed and encouraged her passion, we are offering a 20% discount on all jewelry on display. The same promotion will apply to the Bande des Quatres collection, which was the result of an artistic collaboration with her daughter Erin.

Since the start of my jewelry career in 1972, these two fields of interest have embodied my aesthetic design. The challenge that awaits me is that of constantly having to renew exciting permutations of the same elements, while pushing the limits and satisfying my own desires.”
